Aero Air, LLC, a premier aviation company in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking an experienced Lead Flight Coordinator to join our amazing team at the Hillsboro, Oregon Airport. We are looking for a highly motivated skilled individual who will take pride in being part of the team.
Job Description Summary:
The Lead Flight Coordinator is a hands on position that oversees the team of Flight Coordinators as they prepare, update, maintain, and provide flight information to flight crews and company personnel, create detailed itineraries and supporting documents, track flights, manage crew schedules, calendars and coordinates logistics for crew members and passengers including airline tickets, ground transportation and catering. The Lead Flight Coordinator will oversee the team that will handle a large number of calls over the course of each shift, acting on each call and providing follow-up service and documentation as needed. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday with the ability to cover employee sick and vacation as well as be available by phone in case of an emergency.
Essential Functions:
- Direct point of contact for the Flight Coordinator department during an emergency.
- Monitor all flight activity, coordinate operational planning changes when necessary during irregular operations.
- Monitor the day to day and communicate performance to senior management, advising of significant problems/issues effecting operations.
- Provide effective leadership within the department, promoting all company objectives and changes in operational procedures.
- Recommend changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the operation. Creates, communicates and executes operational plans aimed at preventing delays.
- Support organizational policies and senior leadership directives.
- Additional projects and other duties when needed.
Job Requirements
- Previous leadership/supervisory experience.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to multi-task: talk on the phone and work on the computer.
- Team player who works well under pressure and adapts easily to change.
- Working knowledge of all basic computer systems including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Ability and desire to quickly and efficiently learn new systems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Favorable results from a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience as a Flight Coordinator or Dispatcher.
- Experience in the travel or aviation industry.
- 2 or 4 year degree helpful.
- Part 135 Aviation Knowledge extremely helpful.
- Charter services knowledge helpful.
- Knowledge of Pilot terminology/experience helpful.
- Knowledge of FOS/net scheduling systems helpful.
- Advanced Excel knowledge would be helpful.
