Under the direction of the Director SOC, the SOC Manager monitors, controls, and communicates to company personnel, all information relative to daily operations and is responsible for the safe, economic, and expeditious operation of the SOC. The SOC Manager is tasked with maintaining complete operational oversight, safety, brand integrity, and compliance with established protocols and procedures. Additionally, the SOC Manager maintains oversight and authority of all SOC employees on shift.
Essential Functions:
- Cancel and/or delay flights, reflow crews, and aircraft as necessary, to ensure the highest levels of safety, regulatory compliance, brand integrity, economic utility, and passenger convenience.
- Responsible for oversight of all SOC Company Alert notifications. Directly responsible for issuing all alerts, except Level 1.
- Serves as primary POC for partners, in all IROPs planning and execution.
- Update SOC personnel on all relevant operational issues.
- Highly knowledgeable regarding FARs, NTSB, HMR's, Company manuals, and operating procedures applicable to the SOC.
- Maintains working knowledge and understanding of the Mesa Long Onboard Delay plan/policies.
- Maintains oversight and authority for regulatory compliance over all extended tarmac delays. This includes providing detailed reports containing mandating compliance points, chronology of events.
- Maintain/update databases as appropriate: Weight and balance, etc.
- In emergency situations, coordinates the event, ensuring safe operations, and initiates notification procedures to the proper authorities, company leadership, and code-share partners.
- Serves as primary liaison for all day-to-day, partner related inquiries, schedule adjustments, and IROPs management. Delegates as warranted.
- Coordinates with Crew Scheduling and Maintenance Control regarding operational strategies.
- Works closely with Air Traffic Control and partner carriers to minimize disruptions to the flight schedule.
- Ensure adequate staffing on shift, to include finding coverage for sick calls and no-shows, as well as workload balancing and schedule annotations.
- Represent Mesa on industry and partner telcons, as scheduled.
- Maintain oversight of coding accuracy and audit processes.
- Supervise all employees on shift in the SOC, to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, brand integrity, and efficiency. Counsel and mentor employees as required.
- Immediately report/escalate all safety concerns and negative trends.
- Evaluate and administer employee performance reviews, as directed.
- All other duties required in the daily operation of the SOC, or as assigned by the Senior Director SOC/Director SOC.
Job Requirements
- Possess Leadership experience
- Knowledge of applicable FAR's
- Possess an aircraft dispatcher's certificate
Preferred
- Previous Airline industry experience in Operational Control
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or 1-4years management experience
- Project management, implementation, and scheduling experience
