Job Description:
- The Interiors Technician will perform upholstering aircraft components for the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300.
- Inspect, remove, and install aircraft interior pieces, including doors, bulkheads, and lavatories.
- They may work on other airplane features such as carpeting, sound-proofing mechanisms, lighting, cabinets, or wall panels.
- Positions in aircraft interior work might focus on just one airplane feature, such as upholstery or cabinets.
- Responsible for ensuring that work meets Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and the quality standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers by following safety procedures.
- Consult with higher technicians to develop more efficient and safe procedures for their work processes.
- Prepare aircraft parts to be painted by cleaning, disassembling, masking, repairing, sanding and reassembling
- Work with aircraft parts made of various materials including but not limited to steel, aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, honeycomb, and Kevlar.
- Perform repair and rework activities on non-conforming parts in accordance with the repair work instructions and applicable standards and specifications.
- Mechanical adjustment and/or replacement of parts using various fastener types including drilling, riveting, torque-controlled fasteners, and other mechanical systems.
- Trimming, fitting, potting, cutting, gluing various material types including composites as necessary.
- Store, handle, use, and dispose of hazardous chemicals in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental protection laws.
- Maintains a clean work environment, tooling, and equipment.
- Accomplish all work and maintenance with superb quality within budget and scheduled timeframe.
Job Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow directions, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to access drawings, spreadsheets, and documents.
- Detail-oriented.
- Superior and careful workmanship.
- Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs.
- Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
- Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Work independently when required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.2-3+ Years of relative experience required.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must pass security 10-year background check and random drug and alcohol tests.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
- Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
- Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time.
- Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs.
- Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
