STS Aviation Services is now hiring Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Job Summary:

At our state of the art facility based at Birmingham Airport, we are currently recruiting a number of Structures Technicians/Sheet Metal Workers on a Permanent Full Time Employment basis.Over a Five year period; you will work as part of a high calibre team responsible for the successful delivery of a high profile bespoke aircraft modification programme, converting Boeing 737 NG aircraft into The E-7 Wedgetail. “The worlds most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW C0) platform”.Working as part of the Structures team you will form part of the mechanical side of the programme and report to the Lead Mechanic regarding the day to day activities. As part of a highly skilled team, you will have in-depth knowledge and experience of Aircraft Structures.This is a challenging and rewarding Mechanical role, working on a high profile programme carrying out the major structural disassembly, modification and rebuild of five aircraft. You will be responsible for all aspects of major structural modifications including:

Key Duties Responsibilities:

• Complete strip/removal of aircraft equipment,
  
• Installation of complex mechanical assemblies.
  
• All aspects of mechanical work.
  
• Major component removal and installation
  
• Various inspection stages.
  
• Aircraft system testing
  

Skills Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship- ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalent.

• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years aircraft experience
  
• Previous aircraft production supervisory experience
  
• Previous live aircraft mechanical supervisory experience
  
• Military aircraft experience advantageous
  
• Good knowledge of Aircraft systems
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills
  
• Organisational skills
  
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
  
• Knowledge of MS Office applications
  
• Eligible to work and live in the UK
  
• Subject to UK security Vetting
