Aircraft Maintenance Technician Instructors Job in Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401 USA with Minneapolis Community and Technical College
Minneapolis College is seeking two permanent, full-time instructors in the Aircraft Maintenance Technician (ACMT) Department within the School of Trade Technologies.
These positions will serve as the program's backup liaisons with both the Federal Aviation Administration and Delta Air Lines.
Start Date:
August 18, 2021 (Fall Semester 2021)
Preference will be given to candidates available to teach and train on temporary assignment during Summer Session 2021 (June 1, 2021 August 5, 2021)
Our Aircraft Technician Program:
Minneapolis College educates students for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians by teaching the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant curriculum (14 CFR Part 147.) The ATP program consists of three cohorts of 25 students each.
Our objective is to prepare students to pass the Airframe and Powerplant license examination and obtain post-graduation employment as A P Licensed aviation maintenance technicians.
We teach our ACMT program students in classroom and lab space located in the Delta Air Lines Building C at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
Our ACMT program is one of 49 Delta Air Lines' preferred aircraft maintenance technician schools. ACMT students and faculty benefit from a School Partnership Agreement between the College and Delta Air Lines that provides the program with access to the support of one of the nation's largest air carriers.
Salary:
Full time faculty salaries currently range from $39,212 $84,192 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2019-2021 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty. Temporary part-time faculty teaching five (5) or more credits per semester shall be paid a proration of the appropriate position on the salary schedule for that academic year. Adjunct faculty members who teach fewer than five (5) credits per semester will be compensated at the rate of $1,400 per semester credit.

Responsibilities Include:
- Providing quality teaching to a very diverse student population in both lecture and lab settings;
- Developing and revising instructional materials for both lecture and lab courses;
- Assessing student outcomes at the course, department, and college levels;
- Establishing cooperative work relationships with instructors in the ACMT Department, the Department's administrators, academic advisors, support staff, and all College personnel;
- Actively participating in the college community through ACMT Department and School of Trade Technologies meetings and College-wide committee work;
- Utilizing campus technology to stay current in the aircraft maintenance technician profession and connect to faculty, staff, and students; and
- Participating in ongoing professional development activities and professional association memberships

Education Requirement- Diploma in aviation maintenance
Occupational Experience Requirement - Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in aviation maintenance.
Recency Requirement- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (FAA 147 Requirement)
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement
(TLC requirement must be completed within first three years of employment)- course construction (credit course)*
- teaching/instructional methods (credit course)
- student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)
- philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)
- Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
- These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. - This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
Preferred Qualifications:- Availability to teach two courses (8.5 credits total) on temporary assignment during Summer Session 2021
- Ability to participate in training prior to Summer Session 2021 as needed
- Master's degree
- Teaching experience in a community college or technical school setting
- Occupational experience as an aviation maintenance technician
- Demonstrated computer skills with educational learning systems and Microsoft Office software
- Experience developing and using student centered, active, and experiential learning strategies
- Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery
- Experience assessing student academic achievement
Other Requirements:- Must satisfy requirements to receive a contractor's T.O.C. security badge issued by Delta Air Lines, including the ability to pass a required background check.
