Aircraft Systems Checkout Mechanic- U2 Job in Bethesda, Maryland 20810 United States with Lockheed Martin
Description:Performs the complete final operational checkout and troubleshooting of entire hydraulic, plumbing, surface control and rigging systems, either during or after final assembly, under simulated flight conditions, working to references which are not fully detailed, where it is required to exercise a complete knowledge of such systems, plus a knowledge of related aircraft structures and final assembly and installation practices and procedures. Sets up and operates test consoles and associated test equipment and operates all systems necessary to complete the checkout procedures by using test equipment or cockpit controls; interprets and analyzes test equipment readouts, and locates, diagnoses, and corrects any cause of malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions; makes all final adjustments and verifies proper operation, continuity and timing of applicable components. Performs pickup, rework and modification of the level of difficulty of the operations described above. Improvises hydraulic, plumbing and rigging checkout aids as required. Synchronizes structural members with actuating hydraulic and control lines and components by timing and adjusting arms, struts, up-and-down locks, cylinder strokes, relief valves, etc.; places lines under pressure or vacuum using liquid, gas, or air, to check for leakage, and to verify proper continuity and timing of sequence and selector heads or valves, proper adjustment of regulators, etc. Locates and corrects any cause of malfunctioning, such as bind in run of cables or rods, crossed cables, improperly strung cables, pull off, structural interference, etc.; makes all final adjustments of control surface throws and travels; sets final stops on valves, carriages, levers, rods and other rigging units. Works with authorized liaison personnel to determine satisfactory checkout sequences; points out need for test equipment, part, assembly or documentation corrections. Performs any function of the Assembler, Installer, Senior classification.
This position requires a government security clearance and only candidates with US Citizenship may be considered.

Basic Qualifications:Must possess ability to complete final operational checkout and troubleshooting of hydraulics, plumbing, surface controls and rigging systems.
Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of or have successfully completed training in Blueprint II.
Must possess certifications required by Company.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
