Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of NALCOMIS/OOMA aircraft maintenance software, database management, reports, and processes.
- Troubleshoots and perform unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, adjustments, and replacement of airframes and powerplant systems, components, and accessories on TH-73A aircraft on the flight line and in the field. All work is performed in accordance with applicable government, manufacturers maintenance manuals, company directives, and other approved data.
- Provides guidance and assistance in resolving/repairing discrepancies discovered by Plane Captains during required inspections.
- Participates in flight operations as an In-Flight Maintenance Observer during post-maintenance functional check flights, depot ferries, and aircraft recovery missions once qualified and as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Assists Functional Check Flight Pilots with pre-/post-flight inspections of aircraft.
- Performs high power ground turn operational checks following maintenance in accordance with applicable maintenance instructions.
- Perform Daily and Turnaround Inspections in accordance with inspection criteria on aircraft assigned for Maintenance Turns or Functional Check Flights.
- Perform aircraft maintenance away from the main operating base and assist with aircraft truck-backs/reclamation when authorized.
- Provide guidance to lower-level mechanics by sharing technical knowledge to enhance the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
- Use measuring equipment and other test equipment to troubleshoot, adjust, or install aircraft or engine accessories.
- Read, interpret, and apply instructions from Blueprints, schematics, and other approved data
- Must have a good working knowledge of type aircraft maintenance and be able to demonstrate maintenance skills and knowledge of aircraft systems, including aircraft materials used and safety precautions applicable to usage.
- Perform non-destructive inspections when qualified and assigned.
- Required to perform Collateral Duty Inspections.
- Pursuant to the specific provisions of the CBA and government contract, at the discretion of management, may be requested to perform the collateral duties of Lead.
- Perform corrosion control cleaning and removal as required utilizing precautions in the SDS for materials utilized to complete these tasks.
- Perform airframe and component touch-up and painting when qualified, required, and directed.
- Assist with ordering tools, parts, and materials.
- Ensure proper operation and use of test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
- Will be qualified to operate tow vehicles and tow aircraft as required.
- Must possess personal tools required to perform the work in the classification.
- May be required to remove and reinstall cowlings, doors, and panels to perform the duties of the job classification.
- Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
- Responsible to Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Control Supervisor in performing those duties assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
- Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.
- Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems
- Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory, and preservation of Government-owned and Company-owned equipment.
- Ensure compliance with established Maintenance/Work Instructions and Company policies/procedures.
- Must have extensive working knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series, OPNAV 3750 series, applicable ISO, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Navy Instructions.
- Must be able to utilize card files and common office equipment.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the Tool Control Program.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the FOD Prevention Program.
- Adhere to and enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.
- Ensure compliance with required Quality Control policies and inspections.
- Perform all other position-related duties as well as other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Job Requirements
Position Scope and Charter
- Must have seven (7) years of documented experience as a practicing aircraft mechanic (either fixed-wing or helicopter). Leonardo AW-119 experience preferred or must pass Leonardo AW-119 maintenance training course (or equivalent).
- FAA Airframes or Power Plants License (A or P)* required
- Graduate of C-555-0047 OOMA course or equivalent.
- Must pass annual Class II FAA flight physical prior to assuming this position.
- Must pass Aviation Physiology Training within the first 30 days after assuming this position.
- Must become certified to be a Collateral Duty Inspector within 30 days after assuming this position.
- Must become qualified and certified as a Plane Captain within 120 days after assuming the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
- Must have a valid state driver license, and obtain GSE licensing, aircraft towing certification, hydraulic fluid sampling certification, flight control rigging certification, hazardous materials certification
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate using a two-way radio and/or intercom system.
- Must have the ability to develop professional relationships with management, peers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
- Must be able to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as required.
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
- Frequent travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Primarily aircraft hangar environment. Must pass annual Class II Flight Physical. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights up to 15 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18rdquo; ndash; 24rdquo;.
