Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Job in Overland Park, Kansas 66204 USA with Mead Aircraft Services
Airframe and Powerplant mechanics needed to perform General Aviation aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with minimal supervision. A P mechanics must ensure that all work completed meets FAA requirements, quality standards, and specifications while interpreting aircraft technical manuals and electrical drawings.
Qualifications- Airframe Powerplant (A P) certified mechanic
- 2+ years General Aviation experience preferred
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of all aircraft systems and components, including but not limited to: electrical, engines, landing gear, flight controls, brakes, etc.
- Must have the knowledge and the ability to inspect, service and repair aircraft
- Ensure that proper tools and supplies are used to repair and/or perform maintenance
- Ability to read and understand instrumentation and diagnostic tools when assessing and repairing aircraft
- Measure wear of parts to determine airworthiness
- Ability to understand the root causes of aircraft problems and how to correct those problems
- Be precise and ensure that repairs are done correctly
- Inspect all documents to ensure that repairs and preventative maintenance were performed and recorded correctly
- Must know and follow all regulations set by the FAA
- Ability to follow all safety requirements

Requirements- FAA issued Airframe and Powerplant License
- 2 or more years' experience working on General Aviation Aircraft preferred
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred but not required
- Must be able to commute daily, or relocate to the Kansas City, Kansas (Olathe) area.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
