AP Mechanic - Aviation Component Services Job in Lynchburg, Virginia 24501 USA with K.M.R Aviation Services Inc.
Aviation Component Services Inc. is a certified repair station under part 145 of 14 CFR. Aviation Component Services Inc. is seeking qualified A P mechanics. This position is full time, Monday thru Friday 7:30AM to 4:00PM, with minimal or no overtime.
An A P mechanic at Aviation Component Services will service, troubleshoot, repair, modify, maintain, and overhaul aircraft components in accordance with policies, procedures, requirements, and specifications established by the company, applicable government agencies, and manufacturers as contained in approved Maintenance Manuals.
Job Requirements
- Ensure all parts are properly tagged and processed for repairs.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain a clean and neat work area.
- Ability to bend and manipulate tools in small areas.
- Must comply with all airport security regulations.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: - Must hold a CURRENT AND VALID airframe and powerplant license.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Minimum experience: 3 years, preferably with component overhaul preferred but not essential
- Must have thorough working knowledge of all forms and documents required to support maintenance service, including, but not limited to Company policy and procedure manuals, FAR's, AD's, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Manuals.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
- Must be efficient in the use and application of tools, gauges, instruments, etc. necessary for the accomplishment of duties assigned.
- Must be able to obtain an airport SILDA badge (pass criminal background check)
- Must be able to pass drug test pre-employment and during random drug screenings.
- Reliable transportation.

Major Responsibility Areas and Duties:- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on aircraft, Landing gear and Components
- Works using written or verbal instructions.
- Performs all work assigned in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- Records work performed and assumes responsibility for that work as indicated by his/her signature.
- Must maintain a current A P license and carry it when at work.
- May do experimental and developmental work as assigned.
Additional Duties:- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors necessary for the normal day to day operation, not determined at time of hire.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: - Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to handle and maintain control of small parts and to properly operate hand tools.
- Able to work in a shop environment.
