Accounting Specialist who will be heavily involved in the month end close and reporting process as well as the subsequent analysis of financial information reported. You will need to have financial analysis, revenue recognition, project accounting and general knowledge of technical accounting topics. In addition to the technical expertise, you will need to work independently, be a self-starter who displays strong personal leadership, critical thinking, business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and orally) at various levels.
Position is currently remote, when circumstances permit position will be onsitePrimary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for monthly accruals and recording of month-end journal entries.Executes and provides analysis for various accounting processes such as revenue recognition, contract assets, deferred revenue, accrued liabilities, backlog reporting and/or other areas as assigned.Supports the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process and ensures timely completion and accuracy.Investigates unusual or complex accounting topics and adjustments.Analyzes financial results across multiple legal entities with multiple currencies and leads accounting reviews with subsidiaries.Partners with key contacts at various levels of the organization.Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and performs research on adjustments.Performs consolidated balance sheet analysis and fluctuation analysis for quarterly accounting reviews with the Controller’s office.Participates in process improvements, reporting enhancements and special projects as needed.Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control financial resources and compliance with company policies.Develops and documents standard work procedures.Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.
Job Requirements
Basic QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
ORAdvance degree and 3 years of relevant experience
ORIn absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
QualificationsStrong understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong analytical and problem solving skills and works with urgency to meet deadlinesAble to manage multiple projects deliverables simultaneously.Able to effectively respond to and interact with multiple levels of the organization and with staff at remote locationsAble to communicate and make presentations to senior level leadershipMS Office experience, Excel: look ups, pivot tables, PowerPoint-create presentationsExperience with ERP systemsAble to travel up to 5% of the time domestically and internationally (when current environment permits)Must be a U.S. Citizen
