JOB DUTIES
Manage the accounting department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management and others in making educated economic decisions.
Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes with Corporate Accounting.
Coordinate preparation of data for internal and external Auditors.
Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and verifiable.
Prepare reports required by Corporate Accounting.
Oversee the activities of Simulation System rsquo;s accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, budgets and audits.
Coordinates annual budget development and calculation of overhead rates.
Oversee accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports and cash reconciliations.
Oversee accurate and timely recording of fixed assets.
Coordinate Accounts Receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billing and cash receipts application.
Respond to Director of Finance assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Bachelor rsquo;s degree in Accounting and a minimum of 5 years experience in all aspects of Accounting; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with Manufacturing Cost Accounting and relative accounting systems needed.
Proven supervisory experience required.
Experience with government contracts and audits by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and/or Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is preferred.
Must have extended use with Microsoft Office applications.
