Summary
The Accounting intern will directly support the Accounting department in their daily responsibilities and duties of Allegiant Travel Company.
This position is set to start in May 2021. Interns work at our Corporate Headquarters in Las Vegas, NV and offers may be subject to change based on COVID-19 state gathering requirements.

Job Duties
- Process payables or receivables in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles using data entry, including ensuring proper documentation and verification of approval/authorization limits.
- Preparation and analysis of data to support accounting and business requests.
-Assist month-end close, including preparation of journal entries and related support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: N/A
Education Details: Must be enrolled in an accredited university, with preference given to candidates that will have completed at least two (2) years of university-level coursework. Relevant coursework includes accounting, finance, etc.
Years of Experience: Entry-level role.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to create spreadsheet models and produce relevant outputs is extremely advantageous.
- Interest/experience in accounting, business, and/or finance advantageous.
- Basic computer skills.
- Microsoft Excel (or significant computer programming) proficiency strongly desired.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill essential.
- Sound problem solving and structured yet unconstrained thinking capability valuable.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
