Raise your hand if you've ever heard of an Aerocycle! These one-man helicopters were first built in the 1950's for use in the United States Army. Approxoimately 12 of these were manufactured by de Lackner Helicopters before being discontinued.

Believe it or not there were 3 variants: an initial prototype, a development prototype, and the 12 production models. Of all of them, only 1 is still in existence. If you're willing to take a trip to Virginia this summer, you can see it on display at the U.S. Army Transportation Museum at Fort Eustis.
